Horse-back Riding at Picnic Groove

The other weekend, we went to Tagaytay Highlands to view some properties. After that, we headed to Picnic Groove for the kids to  horseback-ride. Without hesitation, Francis immediately said that he would like to ride the horse and he, as expected, fall in love with it.

For Christoph is a different story. He was scared at first. But kept on saying, I want to ride with Kuya but of course Francis cannot accompany him as they are both a newbie. With the help of another kuya, the horse owner (maybe), he was guided and eventually he wanted to hold the rope.

After that short drama, the boys were very happy. They wanted to race with each other. They wanted to ride fast. My boys.

For Alexa, she was crying as she wanted to ride as well.. but sorry dear, the baby is still a baby. lol

As usual,  our role in life, the mommytographer and the daddytographer  in action while off-duty!

Just for your info, we paid Php 200.00/hour for the horse but a tip to the boy.

Mommy Moments: Movies and Kids

The boys are in constant monitor what to watch next in the big screen, SM Bacoor Cinema. Yes that is where we always watch the movie. Its near and comfy for the kids.

The first movie experienced with the boys was Transformer. Four of us went to watch but immediately Christoph cried as he was scared. It was dark (of course) and very noise (obviously). lol.. too many complains.. We immediately took him out, good enough that the yaya was still in the grocery finishing my chore.

After that incident, we always motivate him about going to the movie until such time that Alvin and The Chipmunks 2 was shown. It was a very long queue of kids waiting to go inside. Since the boys love The Chipmunks so much that they were laughing and talking the whole time. Good enough that many kids were doing the same.

After that, drama moment with Christoph is now history. He now loves going to the movies. The last film we watched was The Last Airbender, that was 2 weeks ago I think.

Lets wait and see when is the next must-see movies for kids. They are the one who would pester us to watch.

Watching in the cinema used to be my favorite hobby when I was in college. But now when I have my family, it could be very costly that is why we only watch when we will take the kids. Otherwise, we are happy watching our favorite action movie at home with a pirated DVD.. Opps... sorry OMB..

Nostalgia 2: Cuts For Tots

Its customary for Filipinos not to cut the hair until the child reaches 1 year old. Whether right or wrong, I dont want to question that. I followed that belief in dealing the first haircut of my kids.

Of all the kids, I only documented the first haircut of Christoph through the help of Cuts for Tots Salon in Glorietta. I didnt know during Francis time that saloons for kids are offering this kind of certificate. No big deal actually but I know this will be a good keepsake for Christoph when he grows old. For Alexa's case, I purposely did not cut her hair only until recently that I instructed the yaya to have it cut whilst I was in Germany. Again, no documentation. Too bad.

Anyway, attached is the photo of the picture frame received from Cuts for Tots.

Sunday is Kids Day

Sunday is our Kids Day. We basically work when needed, even Sunday if the work calls for it. But when we are free, we always  prioritize on activities that include the children.  For instance, when watching DVD, we only watch kid-friendly movies.

Last Sunday was different, we spent the whole morning at home. Me, Alexa and Christoph were coloring as shown in the photos below.

Francis was playing psp. We recently bought a new UMD "The Super Hero Squad Show" with Spiderman, Ironman, Hulk, Captain America.

Daddy was watching a DVD. We had different activities all in one room - the kiddie room.

After lunch, while the kids were sleeping, Daddy went to the firing range and I watched Sex And The City Movie 2.

The Boys And The Teddy Bears

These photos taken in 2005 at Paragon Plaza, Mandaluyong. We had hundreds of these teddy bears to give as a Christmas gift to our business contacts and friends. We wrapped these bears with a plastic film with a bottle of wine in the middle plus a handmade Christmas cards. It was a lot of work but it was worth it.

After the gift-giving, we had some spare ones and so, as a natural mommytographer, I took my kids in the office 37th Floor, we used to live in the 26th floor of the condominium.

Connect Kids to Books

My kids are really hooked with online games and PSP. They are bragging everyday to come to the office so they can play games or fight at home who plays first with the PSP.

Of course, I dont want them to grow like that so while young, its best to connect them to books and not to gadgets.

The following are every parents guidelines:

INFANT AND TODDLERS
Reading and talking to this age group build knowledge about words and language they will later use in learning to talk and read. Read often with infants and toddlers, and talk about what you are reading.

3-5 YEARS
Choose books with simple concepts (numbers, shapes, colors, as well as books that encourage participation). Point out book details, titles, authors and illustrators names.

6-8 YEARS
Reading is a skill that has to be practiced. Research suggests that children need exposure to words between 6 and 60 times before they can memorize and read them fluently without stopping to sound out words.

9-12 YEARS
Give ongoing encouragements, surround children with a book-rich environment and expose them to a wide variety of reading materials (science fiction, mystery, nonfiction to build vocabulary and comprehension).

13-15 YEARS
Adolescent readers need parental support to maintain the reading momentum needed in preparation for standardized tests.

Manila Ocean Park: Fish Spa

Last June, we went with the kids at Ocean Park for the first time. The boys had a
blast looking at the different sea creatures.

Entrance fees:
Adults : Php 400.00
Kids (4.5 ft and below) : Php 350.00

But there are packages on currently on offer. As far as I can remember, we paid for Php 500.00 which includes Entrance to the Oceanarium, Fish Spa and The Jelly Fish Show.

I was particularly interested with the Fish Spa, yes the word spa always ring my bell. This is definitely a good way to pamper ourselves, instead of foot spa, why not try fish spa? But after I tried it, I will probably go back to my fave foot spa.. Mind you, its so ticklish while the fish nibbles the dead skin. I can not stand it longer than 3 minutes. Also, Christoph didnt stop complaining until I got up and washed my feet. He was so scared looking at the fish biting my feet.. poor kid!

For more information, you may visit the webpage of Ocean Park here.

Blogger or Wordpress

This is our family blog and is currently hosted by Blogger with a .blogspot.com web address. I would like to get a more professional looking blog/website thus I am thinking of getting a new domain name.

We have 3 businesses and we purchased the web name and web hosting through Ipower. We are a living proof of a happy customer for not less than 5 years.

Of course, it is cheaper to just get a new domain from Blogger, that way, the hosting is free. But I am well aware that a lot of blogging mommies are under Wordpress and earning a handsome amount of moolah.

Really, I am contemplating deeply which is which. What do you think? Which is better Blogger or Wordpress?

I Love Pink Thursday

Its time for I love Pink Thursday photo meme featuring our little princess in her pink dress / tube dress / duster..

Caught In The Act

After I came home last night, put down the bag, changed clothes and when I came back, I saw Alexa - red-handed - caught in the act doing nonsense. I know she didnt know what she was doing, after all she is still a baby. She is really fond of getting my bag, checking whats inside, especially the wallets.

Its nice to see her at an early stage but I would not be pleased if she gets older and would check my wallet. That is something. That is stealing na. lol..

Sometimes, my boys would just get money from my wallet and buy stuff in the neighbors store. Oftentimes, I get angry because it is not right to just get without asking permission. They only learned to do this when we moved to Cavite, of course there is no sari sari store in Ayala Alabang. lol..
